Whenever I make meals from the rice kits, like jambalaya, I always look for where I can add extra vegetables, like a can or two of tomatoes, or some fresh onion, or bell pepper. I try to incorporate all my vegetables into one dish a lot of times so that I can just put the leftovers in individual serving containers to take to lunch and it’s a full meal.

Wow! Great tip about the bugs in the rice and flour products!

Awesome deals! I love shopping at my local discount grocery! I find so many nane brand and organic foods that are super cheap compared to regular grocery stores. It's like a treasure hunt every time I go in! I've saved mega bucks by shopping there. So grateful to have it within 20 miles of my home.

Sad thing is I live in a very small town outside of Tyler tx and we have 1 grocery store and an aldi 20 minutes away but they really don't have any good sales and when I googled salvage store it really didn't come up with anything 😢
And ibotta doesn't recognize our grocery store 😢
I'm depressed 😊

Love the rice tip!!

Used to have a discount store within walking distance, it was awesome because I didn't drive. They recently had to move because the landlord of the building was not renew their lease. So now I have no discount store close enough to me. It's so sad that a lot of our stores are disappearing. You still have to thrift stores and they took those out also. The nearest Kroger's is far far away from me and I have to take and spend $5 or more for an all day pass to get to the store. All the good deals are gone before I get there, because I work during the day. If you have great stories like the ones you go to it's easy, especially if you drive it's a lot harder if you don't drive and have to take a bus

@stephaniegilbert2476 says:

I don’t have a salvage food store within 90 miles so not an option for me. What I question is the legitimacy of $400 a month as their actual cost of groceries they eat. Seems to me that the cost of the cow they purchase each year should be factored into their monthly food costs, as should ALL of the food that they consume that she makes for videos, but that isn’t counted in her monthly cost either. I believe that is a business expense.

Americans….
Everything is processed, because you're looking for short cuts (base line of 3 home cooked meals a day). You bought items you don't even sure what to do with.

Thanks for this video. I use my discount grocery store all the time. It really does save you money. Especially when you are on a tight budget and need to stretch meals
