I’m going to talk to you a little bit about how to use store sales flyers. So these usually come in the mail on Wednesdays, and they’re from your different grocery stores. And we’re used to seeing this big, giant thing in our mailbox with flyers from Albertsons, Safeway, King Super, City Market, whatever it might be, and usually those goes right to the dumpster, right? They shouldn’t. The trick here is to pull those out and look at them, whether it be that you’re a loyal shopper at one of those stores, or maybe you shop around, there’s going to be some useful information in there as you craft your grocery list for the week.

So what I tend to do is I’m pretty loyal, so I’ll pull out my store’s circular, and I’ll look through it and see the deals. This week I think they had 10 for 10 on avocados and mangoes. If I can look at that before I make my grocery list, I can start crafting my meals around that. And ultimately making sure that I’m using their sales, whether it be seasonal sales or just really great deals on products, to save the most on my grocery trip.

Now when I can add a coupon to that, it’s even extra, right? So I can look and say, here’s a 10 for 10 on avocadoes, might not get a coupon there, but at the same time there might be $2.50 for a box of cereal, and if I have a dollar off coupon on that brand as well, I’m suddenly able to save a lot. So the trick here is to make sure that you are looking at their sales, using that to ultimately construct your weekly grocery list, and trying to apply as many of your coupons as you can. You can get big savings here, you can get as much as thirty, forty dollars off if you shop smart.

So there’s just some tricks on how to use those weekly grocery flyers in your couponing strategies.
