nice comparison. I agree that inflation prolly isnt relevant in that small time frame. but I'm pretty confident that the difference in current price is due to the fact all these products are made in china. in the last couple months the cost of a shipping container has risen 500%. some of these containers were $4,000 to $5,000 an currently running $20,000 to $24,000. I would assume items like the helmet stayed the same due to have large stock of them in usa already. I typically dont agree with companies himing prices but this genuinely may be a issue that was unable to be avoided. wanted to add items like the Apache case are made in usa.

I find myself wondering if the big changes have anything to do with low profits at HF. If so, I can understand the efforts to change the business model …..however, its a business model that is now totally irrelevant to me now. I just can't justify spending the extra cash.

I find myself in a position to replace or add tools for my needs/shop ….I no longer use the tools as commercial work assets so they don't need the best and in the past smart buying allowed me to get the things I needed as I needed them. I remplaced a whole garage full of tools with HF tools from an insurance claim ….most worked find, some still in boxes. Yet the coupons and specials of the past were what attraced me to the HF.

Returns were never a problem. In the past year I had a few items puke out on me and tried to return for replacement. The tools were clearly new and no used much or at all. They treated me as a thief and replaced only one pittsburg lifetime item. I embarassed myself by losing my temper, swearing at anyone within a 10' radius and almost got arrested…..they should have arrested the store manager.

My son gave me a $300 HF gift card over a year ago. I just won't and will not spend the money on overpriced tools and equipment.

Yes, HF has lost me as a customer. I shop PJ's amazon, home depot and other cooupon deals no and will probably never go back to HF unless they do something drastic to change pricing, tools and business model.

Why would I want to buy Bauer or any of their other offbrand or homebrand tools when I can get something like dewalt, rigid, milwaukee, makita and on and on for close to the same price and know I am getting a quality product that will be there years from now.

Sometimes people would laugh at me for buying HF. As far as I was concerned I got a product that would do the job I needed and if it lasted I had it for the next project. If it didn't I could usually return it and if not it simiply went into the garbage can considered to be a job cost.

Very sad. I appreciate your occaisional videos expressing your dissappointment in HF and I hope those cone head HF muckity mucks take notice 🙂

Did you take into consideration metal prices? And inflation? Maybe I missed it if you did.

@maechiokafor5754 says:

I think the savings return when you join the Inside Club membership, but I don't shop there enough for me to feel like the membership is worth it for me.

@vtwinaddicted5852 says:

Those peckerheads talked me into the inside track membership, MISTAKE!!!

@Bill1993YT says:

The new up-charging from HF usually has me spending a little more to buy a better brand or product elsewhere. I still don’t think their new stuff is really that much better to warrant the prices they’re now asking…

@jiujitsuforall8627 says:

I'm hoping either HF sees the error of its ways or a new competitor pops up and replaces HF using their old, yet successful, marketing strategy after HF loses most of its loyal customers. Let's face it, most, if not all of us HF customers were drawn to them by their coupon program and the (mostly) obvious savings. To me, it's a big "screw you" to their loyal customers. As some have pointed out, they are gonna LOSE BIG to Amazon now. BiG mistake, HF, big mistake.
