You have a very impressive stockpile. I am very envious. I started stockpiling last year and currently have 6 months worth of food. I definitely need to improve on washing products , but I do have plenty of personal products for my family. I do love watching people having food security. I find it very satisfying and in the US your supermarkets sell some wonderful foods in bulk we don’t get in the UK. Keep up the good work.

LovingLyfe says:

Wow. Great video. Where did you get your racks from?

CB isme says:

put a piece of cardboard across the wire shelving. it creates a flat surface for your cans

Rhonda Syberg says:

Nice job of sharing what you’ve accomplished. Aldi is my go to store too😍

Kaycee Bird says:

Good start Hon. Keep in mind that the cans are still good long past their expiration dates. Also, stock up on spices. Beans and rice will get really boring after a while.

S Jordan says:

I love Aldi, but there isn't one where I live, just a Trader Joe's. I like to buy Ezekiel bread, there because it has sprouted grains and is cheaper than other stores. If I really want to save, I go to Grocery Outlet, no coupons necessary, because they do not accept them. But, their prices are a minimum of 50% off, often 75% off, their WOW deals are even better. I literally save more than I spend there. You can also buy Organic and other items for special diets. Dates are not expired, the food is basically a grocery store surplus store. I stock up on multiples, when I find items I know I will use at a good price. Now, I am prepared for at least a year, more if I rationed it, and can provide for my daughter and familiy if necessary, all on my very tiny Social Security check. If I can do it anyone can. TP and cleaning supplies are also at a good price at Grocery Outlet.

Debby Tomlinson says:

Don't forget salt and spices and something to mix into the powdered milk, like ovaltine for the nutrition. OTC meds and first aid. And be prepared to defend your home.

Debby Tomlinson says:

Second comment, sorry, get your cases and turn them long ways, and you should be able to get 18 cases of 12 cans on that one shelf alone. I usually buy 6 or 12 of everything and its easy to see whats low and count how many you need to fill your cardboard flats up again.

Debby Tomlinson says:

Next time you shop at walmart, look at the box your size .metal rack came in because those shelves can hold around 250 lbs PER shelf. It will tell you the weight each shelf holds. Also, next time you shop, put empty cardboard cases from canned goods in your cart too. They won't mind. Works wonders for organization and no cans falling over. Great job !

TrueNorth747 says:

Measure and cut a piece of plywood to put onto the wire shelves. It will solve the issue of the cans being unstable. And will protect the shelf from bowing.

Amy Dahlia says:

I want to go shopping with you!! Very inspiring, thank you 😊

Juanita Hall says:

If you can find a large cardboard to put on your shelves to keep your cans from rocking

Scott Williams says:

Good for you, keep up the good work! 😊

Amy Goehring says:

Thank you. Excellent video

Scharonda Black says:

Where are you for you to have food lion Harris teeter and Lowe's foods

Dana Long says:

I love to see other women like me storing up for these precarious times. So wise…

Crissy Drill says:

First time I have seen any of ur vids. Loved it. You’re so relatable. I’ve been getting it together also. Lol. Thank you. I’m subscribing ❤️

thefirst noob says:

You can put a sheet of cardboard down to keep your cans from moving or just keep the boxes they came in and stack them in those.

thefirst noob says:

From one prepper to a beginner. For a prepper I think the average calories a day per person regardless of age is 3200. I know most say I have kids that don't, won't ever eat that amout but you may have some extra loved ones you didn't prepare for and this will help out. I think we are going to have food shortages in the future. It takes about 750. I just say 800 pounds of dry goods per person per year regardless of age. 200 pounds of each, dry beans, rice, dry whole corn and wheat berries. 25 pounds of sugar per person per year regardless of age. 10 pounds of salt per person per year regardless of age. Then you can fill in with pasta, another cover food if stored right, and canned goods such as meat and vegetables and fruit. You can even store dehydrated items they have a longer shelf life and take up less room. Don't forget medications and medical supplies, protection (You will need this to protect your preps and family), heirloom seeds and different types of water filtration and purification.

Bonnie Rogers says:

You can put a piece of cardboard down on your shelves and the cans won’t rock 🙂

Roniece Smith says:

Just a suggestion. If your family goes through about 4-6 cans of the tuna it may be better for you to buy the middle size cans. That way you don’t have to use so many. I know BJs sells the really big cans and the smaller 5oz cans come 8 to the pack. The large cans may be too much. Walmart sells the middle size cans. Maybe take a look when you are out shopping, see if it’s worth it.
