When you want to get some hamburgers that are not fast food but not too high-end, you think about Red Robin. The casual dining restaurant chain may have started as a humble tavern, but it has over 500 restaurants in the United States and Canada today.

Red Robin actually didn’t start out as an establishment that served burgers, but when it did, it took off. Today, its burgers are the main stars of its menu, and creations like the Bleu Ribbon, Fiery Ghost Tavern Double, and Red Robin Gourmet Cheeseburger are among its most popular items.

Besides their gourmet burgers and humble beginnings, here’s what you should know about Red Robin before eating there again.

What's the go-to at Red Robin for you?

@calebantrim3071 says:

Red Robin sucks in W. WA (where it started). I will never go back. The quality is crap and their locations smell bad. They haven’t been good since the 90s or early 2000s. I can get better food at gas stations around here. They can no longer afford to offer quality. Shut them down.

Burgers are OK – eveything else is JUNK!!

@Wolfie66 says:

Was sadly disappointed the last time at RR. Better burgers down the street at Culver's at half the price!

@kamron_thurmond says:

I don't know why they gave a crap what the vegans thought to begin with. They sell burgers vegans are not their customer base.

@dwayneelizondomountaindewh6073 says:

the food is kinda overpriced for what you get.

@sarahfox6867 says:

The food arrived cold and tastes nasty. SERIOUSLY?! $3.59 for one tablespoon of coleslaw. Well, enjoy the money you received from my one order. There will NEVER be another. And I will spread the news.

@DRTMaverick says:

Red Robin cooks its burgers on a conveyer belt- I worked at one back in 2012.

Their seasoning is still one of the best seasonings ive had from any resturant, no matter how unhealthy it is.

@waffle8364 says:

I love their burgers 🍔.
They have kept a good consistency ever since I was a kid. I hope they stay around as it's my favorite place to get a good burger

@ayej4963 says:

i work at a red robin and holy hell if most this still was here i would cry lmao

@lovewillwinnn says:

⚠️I worked for them as a teen and they WITHHELD my final paycheck because I couldn’t find the other apron they gave me to use (they assigned you two as you start the job).
I That was ILLEGAL but I didn’t know it at the time. Pretty much BOYCOTted RR ever since. This is a stupid misleading v, too. Didn’t watch but one minute of it.
It’s just a long AD‼️‼️⚠️

Does anybody else get explosive diarrhea when they eat at Red Robin?

@terrycarlino7794 says:

Never been there. 🤢🤮

@raeanna451 says:

One of my favorite chains. Surprised there so many negative comments on here. We must just be lucky and have a good store. The hubby and I usually get the tavern burgers they are tasty and relatively affordable we never really get the other burgers.
