Tea at 10.00 for 300 tea bags will make a half gallon of ice tea for 60 days. that's $5.00 a month for tea. I'm not getting why you think tea is expensive. Plus it has antioxidants in it. I fixed my family a 1/2 gallon of tea every day when I was raising kids. Since I always tried to feed them healthy we didn't add sugar. A half gallon of tea works out to .12 cents a day for drinks and thats at today's prices.

Thank you both so much for such a wonderful video! I am in my early 30’s and have always subscribed to trying to be debt free and not waste money. I sometimes watch American TV shows that feature the price of food and so much of it seems to be so inexpensive, there is couponing etc. Lots of variety in packaged foods too. Here in Australia, food is quite expensive, fresh produce (not organic) is relatively cheap as are the cage eggs and store brand milks. However I think these items are probably still quite expensive compared to American foods. So many other foods are still expensive, even when one doesn’t buy unnecessary items like biscuits etc.

Although I already personally use a lot of the ideas mentioned, it was nice to see a video (finally) that didn’t suggest not buying takeaway coffees. If you are sacrificing buying takeaway coffees, you probably don’t know what truly needing money is because you managed to afford to eat, and live before buying such an indulgence. I’m not even saying this as someone who hasn’t lived like this previously. I’m saying it because I know how wasteful it is to buy these from experience! My husband and I shamefully worked out years ago that if we gave up our takeaway barista hot chocolate and coffee each day we could put our child into private school without changing our budget $10 a day adds up!). Saving up and buying myself a thermomix has also changed our eating habits and made me realise how expensive pre prepared ingredients are when a person is short on time! Nowadays there are so many pre cut fruits and veggies, fresh seasoned meats and veggies in trays, washed and bagged greens, grated cheese etc and they all come at a cost (the marketing teams of supermarkets know people will utilise these items under false illusion it will save them time!).

I think Americans are quite greedy if you ask me they eat larger portions and I pay for my food too an American company they over charge for my food rodicuolsy I eat well but still expensive I get £150 to last me two weeks and I'd say £70 of that goes on food and that's too much cos I don't eat a lot I cook vegetarian mostly get reductions and trust me I only have one bin bag full of waist per fortnight I drink water I don't drink alcohol I do drink coffee and milk on my porridge

Raquel Embleton says:

Says €7 a week at the heading

For years I've stretched a pound of ground beef in to four meals for our family. Now that we are 'empty nesters' it goes even further. I've cut us down quite a bit on the meats. Thanks for the videos!

G C says:

Holy cricket you guys really do look like sisters!

Shirley A says:

Good information! I like the way a school took care of too much food being wasted. They set up a box outdoors near the lunch tables, so the kids who didn't want to eat all their lunch could deposit their leftovers, and the kids who didn't have much to eat, for one reason or another…usually poverty, could go to the 'Box' and choose whatever was in there, for themselves to eat. 🙂 Food was rarely wasted.

M Bala says:

Love your mom. Smart lady..like my own mom!
