Melissa, about the Asparagus issue that you have there are two things you keep in mind:
(Please don't take it personally, is just a suggestion)

1. How much water do we need daily? (General guidelines: Females = 8 Oz water 8 times/day | Males = 10 Oz. water 8 times/day) However, it also depends on our environment, activity level, etc., etc.

2. A lot of the food and drinks we have even on daily bases are natural diuretics (such as Lemon, Celery, Ginger, Asparagus, Cabbage, Cucumber, Watermelon, Garlic, Coffee, Tea, Alcoholic Beverages… the list is long). Now there's no need to go crazy and avoid this foods or drinks.

All you need to do is increase your daily water intake. Is good for you, it will help keep your system clear of toxins and keep you healthy.

Love mushrooms! The thing with mushrooms is one of those foods you have to grow accustomed to. It is an acquired taste. I didn't acquire the taste for them until the age of 16 or so. Then I discover Portabello and Shitake… and the rest is history, Love them all.

Also, while some mushrooms are high in Potassium, others are high in Iron and all of them are high in Fiber. For those of you that watch you Calories intake, Mushrooms are Very Low in Calories. Undeniably a Super-Food.
