YES! The $5 pantry challenge is SO important! You never know when you'll need it. It could be because something happened with the trucks that bring the food to the stores, weather issues where you can't get to the grocery store, natural disasters, job loss, illness, whatever. It's so smart to have extra food , food, water, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, medicine on hand.

I changed my meal plans to meatless 3-4 days weekly.

When I eat meat, I stick to the rule where the meat is equal to the size of a deck of cards. Technically the side to my veggies.

My other rule is to only buy the meat in the bargain bin. I do have a full freezer and food saver machine, which allows me to stock up for those tough weeks.

I get 60 eggs for $990 that's 2 day n the thick bacon 1 or 2 with eggs. You need equivalent of 2 eggs day for essential amino acid for proper brain function. If trying to get away from carbs scramble eggs. Or olde fashioned oatmeal w 1/4 tsp brown sugar n 1 percent milk. Or use hotdogs for meat

Here in the UK we also have a Web site called to good to go and supermarkets, independent food stores, bakeries and coffee shops all signed up to it and what they do is 2 per day, early morning for 1hr and late evening for 1hr,anything that needs to be used with 24,48hrs they bag up and then sell for a small price, usually your based items are worth between £12 to £15 and the most you pay is £5,you don't know what's actually in the bags just a general idea and you have to reserve your bags, there no limit to how many you can have,if a store says they have 5 bags you could reserve all 5 or however many you want no 2 bags have the same items inside so its a surprise when you get home and open it,we have yet to be disappointed, the last 2 bags we had came from costs coffee shop and their worth was over£15 and in 1 bag we got cookies, brownies and muffins and the other withsandwixhes made that morning, scorfilled with
