Grocery shopping can easily eat up a ton of money out of your monthly budget if you aren’t careful. One of the main ways to save money on groceries is to use coupons, apps, or shop sales, but all of those require time and thought, which busy parents just don’t have! In today’s video, I share how we save money on groceries and spend just $600/month on groceries for a family of four and ten daycare kids.

Great video. I use "Plan to eat" app (they also have desktop) and I really find it convenient since it is all in my phone, I can check off items that I already have before I go shopping and then at the store, as I buy them, Yo can also import recipes very easy and then drag and drop to make your weekly menu.

I've done grocery shopping with the dog before thankfully he's never begged for treats credited I've learned blancing a stroller with a 6 lb Chihuahua mix and a week's worth of groceries it's possible but difficult LOL

Great vlog. Thanks for the info.!!

Super great information!! My biggest suggestion is to do the grocery pick up, although here we get our groceries delivered to our house, every week!! I have figured out that this sees me 3 to 4 hours a week. I just keep a running grocery list in my stores app and then when I am done at the end of the week I proceed to the checkout and have the groceries delivered to my home the next day!! I really like meal prep on Sundays as well… Sometimes it is super hard for me to be consistent! I need to get better at that… Or you could loan out San!!! 🤪😎🤩😂

I do meal prep weekly, but I had not done it in the last month. This was a reminder to get back on track. Thank you!

Great tips! Thanks!!

My money saving tip is similar to yours. When an items we normally purchase is on sale we purchase enough for six to eight weeks because that is when it will go on sale again. Thanks Sarah for your videos.

Jen Dyson says:

Walmart pick up forces me to meal plan very carefully and no impulse buying. It is such a time saver!! Also, the substitutions always work in my favor, for example I order a pound of strawberries which it turns out are not in stock so they substitute a two pound package for the same price. I also have a freezer which I love for stocking up and always having food available if something happens and we couldn't shop. Those pre portioned snacks creat a lot of trash, I agree with not buying. I don't buy water, so no bottles/waste there either. I have an extra pantry in the basement which is just some shelves for lots of canned goods etc. buy extra when they're on sale so you will always have back ups. . I should try your method of shopping for two weeks, I'm still ordering weekly. Last tip, grow your veggies! We have a regular garden but even without a yard you can grow a lot in pots😀

Randi R. says:

I really need to meal prep on sundays! I really think that's help me. I tend to over buy produce!

I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around a budget. We're a family of 5 and I feel I'm ALWAYS at the grocery store.

Sarah C says:

My biggest money saver is to really keep a clean pantry and fridge and make sure I know what’s in there and what we truly need.
