Also Target has a general policy of not fighting over money on any transaction as long as it doesn't exceed $10. So you could have sworn you saw a aign saying those socks where $8 and would have saved that $1 coupon or not. Yes this policy is still in effect today although you don't know if its as widely taught in traing as it was 30 years ago. But I have had true reason to despite pricw three times in the oast five years ans out of 3 transactions. Only one cashier never knew about it. Shh unadvertised secret.

Why do people see the need to bother retail workers and make their job more complicated? Some people like a challenge. Allot of people don't. They get paid like 10 bucks an hour so just let them do their job normally.
All you did back then was punch in amount as a – from the amount owed. Anybody younger then 50 years old probably doesn't even know how to use a cash register from the 1960/1990s !

I've done this, too; used an old coupon. The cashier usually keys it in manually. I figured I had nothing to lose in trying.
