Saving money doesn’t always require a lot of effort, but sometimes you just need to be aware of certain strategies to save money. In this video, I share 15 effortless ways to save money.

1. Gasbuddy

Gasbuddy is an app that tells you where the cheapest gas is in your area. If you download the app and use it before you fill up your gas tank, you can save up to 50 cents per gallon on gas.

2. Buy A Water Bottle And Bring It Everywhere

Water is a completely unnecessary expense that many people will spend hundreds of dollars a year on. If you buy a reusable water bottle and bring it everywhere you go, it is an effortless way to save money.

3. Ditch The Paper Towels

Paper towels are a completely unnecessary expense that people spend hundreds of dollars on a year. If instead of using paper towels, you use rags to clean things around your house, it is a very easy way to save money.

4. Don’t Get Sodas At Restaurants

Eating out is expensive and it is more expensive when you buy sodas. If you simply cut out sodas and get water when you eat out, it can save you 10% off your bill

5. Pay In Cash To Avoid The Tip Screen

Everywhere now you are asked for a tip, which is called, “Tipflation.” Although it is important to tip bartenders and servers, tipping everywhere can really add up. One way I avoid the pressure is by paying in cash at places that commonly ask for tips.

6. Get A Case For Your Sunglasses

Many people buy multiple pairs of sunglasses each year because they do not take good care of them. If you buy a case for your sunglasses and get in the habit of putting them in the case, it can save you money.

7. Get A Lower MBPS On Your Internet

Internet companies usually charge in “mbps,” and this number can be very misleading. Having a higher mbps means that you can run multiple devices without it slowing down. For a family of 4, 200-400 mbps works fine and for two people having 100 mbps works fine.

8. Get Your Own Modem And Router

Another way internet companies get extra money from you is by getting you to pay a monthly fee for your router and modem; however, this is unnecessary. If you buy your own modem/router, it is an easy way to save money.

9. Don’t Eat Meat 2 Times A Week

One of the most expensive things people will spend money on at the grocery store is meat. If you decide to go vegetarian for two days a week, you can save money on the high price of meat.

10. Only Go To The Grocery Store Once A Week

Many people go to the grocery store multiple times a week, which makes them spend money in gas and getting items they didn’t intend on getting. If you do all your grocery shopping once a week, you can save money.

11. Switch To Mint Mobile

Mint mobile is a cell phone company that uses T-Mobile signal that only costs $15 a month. The catch of the service is that it is second in signal priority, so your signal can be cut off when you’re in a crowd. If you are willing to put up with a few inconveniences throughout the year you can save money.

12. Bring Sandwiches To Work For Lunch

Many people will eat out every single lunch for work, which can add up to thousands of dollars throughout the year. If you take the time in the morning to make your own lunch, it can save you thousands of dollars.

13. Pay With A Cash Back Credit Card

If you have the self control to pay off a credit card at the end of the month and not carry a balance, you can earn hundreds of dollars a year with credit card cash back.

14. Create A Running Queue Of Books At Your Library

Books can be expensive if you are an avid reader. If you create a queue of books placed on hold at your local library, you can enjoy books without spending money.

15. Go To The Gym Three Times A Week

Although going to the gym does take effort, it is a lot less effort than most people spend on health care services. If you just go to the gym three days a week for one hour sessions, it can save you a lot of money.

I buy 5 cases of water as a hurricane supply and I buy that at BOGO prices. I use Brita filter and carry my water with me all day every day.

I love physical books but have been reading ebooks and e audio rather than burning gas to go to the library. When only a physical book is alternative I wait till I'm in the area to borrow it.

He in north of Tampa area during 9 months of year our water is at least lukewarm so I use tap water for washing. My clothes are never that dirty anymore.

As someone who has relied on tips, I get that some people can't afford to tip everywhere they go, but please don't handle it that way. That's just telling the people behind the counter that you are unappreciative and that they don't deserve basic human respect. Say, "thank you, i appreciate it,i apologize, I'm short on cash", (even if it's a lie).

@jefferymccauley9548 says:

I have no problem with pushing the "no tip" button and using my credit card at at coffee shop. 😉

Try ffish instead of chicken. Keep a scrapbook for tecipes youfind.

@brndnt925 says:

About soda: not only is the high fructose corn syrup basically poison—it’s not sugar, which is bad enough—but the artificial sweeteners in diet soda trick your body/brain, causing you to crave more food… and actual sugar.

@brndnt925 says:

Those water filters aren’t cheap and have to be replaced every 3mos. They also don’t actually do much besides reduce the taste of chlorine. But tap water is usually totally safe. They send you a water quality report in the mail every year or so and you can also have it tested.

Fun fact. Most restaurants have found that they can legally get away with only paying $2.13 an hour and your paying the rest of the minimum $7.25 required. Don't assume that every barista is making double what you did.

You're so close to 100k subs!!!!! I'm thrilled for you!

@requiem1123 says:

Tipping culture is trash. It is their employer's responsibility to give them a sustainable salary. Not through pressuring customers to give more than what they owe.

I do almost all these but instead of using cash to avoid tips at coffee shops, hit no tip and pay with your cash back card to get paid 2% back. Or make your own coffee, even better. Like the content 👌🏻

I need to do the sunglasses holders. I have Costa's & Ray Ban's that I didn't pay for so I want to make sure they stay in great shape.

Oh i have two tips… One i use regularly and the other one i plan to use.

1. The app called Olio. Someone collects food from the supermarkets that are reduced that day and list it on the app. You can then go to the persons house to collect what you requested for free!! You can also be a volunteer and do the collecting too. Iv been using it for years and its saved me so much money overtime that i would of spent at shops. Plus you stopping food waste!

2. Goodgym. Its a new thing i found here in the UK not sure if its anywhere else. But for a small registration member ship fee (like any gym) you can take part in an activity with a group of people for a good cause. E.g help a church by doing gardening, doing a house clearout for someone who need help.
Basically is a group that stays active but instead of pounding away on a treadmill your helping the community and also socialising.

3. Lastly, if you like nature. I recommend downloading the app "tree app". Its free. But every day you can click to plant a tree in an option of places eg Madagascar, Burundi… All you have to do is click to watch an ad for a few seconds (dont even have to watch it) and then click plant tree. The adverts are usually very eco-friendly products and has dicounts if you purchase through the app.

Thats my few little nuggets you guys may like

One thing that's helping me budget at the moment is work provides free food during the shift. It only consists of bread with different spreads, crumpets , fruit (only twice a week..wish it was more) mug shot, cereals, noodles (2 different flavours) and several flavours of instant soup. It's a wide variety then most places do but as it's an office I wish they provided a lot more healthier options then beige food that lacks nutrients and impacts health a bit. In the temporary it does save my wallet 😅 I work 4 days but i try to rotate between it for 2-3 days (but get sick of beige very quick..quite literally 😔) so i tend to bring something in on the last day or allow myself to get something healthy for one day at itsu. I was doing good at healthy meal prep …roast a chicken on a Sunday and have it with broccoli and corn throughout week but I ended up getting a bit too broke to afford anything but definitely will prioritise it next week for sure.

Your right about the tips! When I was doing my awful drinking binges there was one place that I couldn't say no to tips on the screen everytime I brought a drink when served by one specific person…dude got sooo many tips out of me. I'm deffo for cash in that respect now.. I'm going out for a meal on Sunday and will deffo be doing that 😅

Amazing video, A friend of mine referred me to a financial adviser sometime ago and we got to talking about investment and money. I started investing with $150k and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and get more interesting. For over a year we have been working together making consistent profit just bought my second home 2 weeks ago and care for my family…

@mhoward181 says:

Have to disagree with this 1 thing. Don’t cut out meat. You should know this. The food Industry and big pharma has been making you and ur loves ones I’ll and dependant for years. Cut out the processed food and eat whole food. Eat Unprocessed food. Pay whatever u have to as health is more important. Paying more in the long run and short ur life is bad. Also skip breakfast. How long the lie that you must have breakfast. I don’t take or buy food. I work from 7am to 2pm and eat nothing and don’t feel hungry. look into fasting and eating at set times. Consume whole food in a 4/6 hr window. Watch the weight drop off and watch the idiots addicted to food and times they must eat even when they are not hungry. It’s their body saying to them this is when u unusually eat. It’s Time to eat. You must eat…….If you’re not part of the 1% don’t get a cash back credit card. Ur not smarter than any credit card provider that spends millions on marketing every month. Watch David Ramsey and learn about money and spending. Best advise you will ever get.

@misssocialdeb3777 says:

I am with you on the paper towels. I think that is such a big waste. I use cloth towels

@jarrettplaysviolin5992 says:

You grew up poor and your "hacks" are nothing like anyone with wealth would imitate. People who have money don't worry about paper towels, bottled waters or restaurant soda LOL

@gccooley says:

Skip the gym, do house and yard work.
