Make your own dressing olive oil salt pepper!
I create “garbage soup” basically all left overs into one giant bowl of soup.’actually tastes not so bad,
Lasts 2 meals each time . That’s $20 at least saving per meal. And if you each out around $20 to $30 a day, you’re running like $13,000 to $15,000 pre taxed dollars on eating out a year. It’s actually quite significant.
most basic stuff ever that anyone knows.sad
this question is a kind of hard to answer. why do gorcerry stores (for me it's food lion) have one certain "size" item on sale more than others? specifically the large or small sized cooked shrimp. it seems the medium sized are rarely on sale.
make your own laundry detergent
Stay single. Best way to shop cheap.
I like writing down my staples by stores and categories and mark the quantity in my notebook with pencil so I don't have to keep checking what I need when its time to shop. You could probably do something like that digitally too
Also with gas prices it's not worth it to run all over to save less than 20 cents or so on an item so I consolidate on top of waiting for sales to stockpile a little
I pay $36 a year for delivery. If I get groceries delivered on Friday, I can get 4x fuel points which means at least $1 off a gallon of gas once a month. I have recouped my delivery cost many times over. It also prevents impulse buying.
Recently I started paying more attention to how I spend money when shopping online. I realized that comparing prices between different websites can save more than I thought. I also began using coupons and cashback tools more often, and it really makes a difference over time. A friend of mine told me about Valuecom a few days ago, and I actually found some nice deals there, especially for groceries and daily items. One habit that helped me a lot is waiting before buying something, so I don’t make impulse purchases. Saving money isn’t about spending less, but being smarter and more careful with what you choose to buy.
Food lion has actually wen the cheapest in my area, their generic food lion foods are delicious and lucky me it is close. I’ll check 5 different stores and still buy most at food lion it’s crazy
I spent $30 on 50 strawberry plants (25 ever-bearing and 25 day-neutral.) I planted them in a large tub just for now, but will be making strawberry pots (vertical with chicken wire and burlap holding the soil and a drilled pvc pipe down the middle for watering.) I can share those with family. We will have strawberries until frost, that’s October here in Pittsburgh. I am planting the space around the strawberry towers in the bottom of the pot with chives, thyme, and basil (not mint, it would take over.)
We buy fresh herbs at the Asian grocery when it’s cold, but we grow our own spring-fall.
