Jessy Wanders says:

I love the point you made about buying it bulk. I always compare my grocery store prices to my closet Sam's Club. Sometimes buying in bulk is not the cheapest. There are some items I skip on at Sam's because it is way more expensive. I have been teaching my mom to shop this way too! She use to go to Sam's Club once a week, now she goes once every few months. She does order from Sam's more often because it's easier to compare units when she has the competitor prices at her finger tips.

Lisa Johhson says:

Just as a friendly reminder when you are buying some non perishable items to stock up on. Check the expiration date and try to get the farthest date out you can

My favorite clearance section is the bread/bakery!

Yes, you've got to check the cost/unit or cost/ounce. And make sure you are comparing apples to apples. My kids love the Jimmy Dean pancake on a stick. I work from home and when they get up, it's easy for me to take a quick break and pop those in microwave for them and get them a piece of fruit. The off-brand (from WM) is NO The same, and when we bought them, they were raw, so I'm not doing that again. The name brand at WM is $8.27 for 12 pk, or $.69 each. while the same product at Sam's Club is $10.66/20 ct or $.53 each. That's a savings of $.14 per stick and we go through 2 a day. It adds up, and we felt the pinch when they ran out for a while at the Sam's Club. And yes, I took the GV product back and exchanged it for the more costly name brand becasue taste and food safety. I would never want to put something with raw dough in the microwave like that again.

I like to.buy aleady cooked rotisserie chickens. Saves on electricity and makes quick to make meals and freezes beautifully. I like to shred it for quick chicken tacos , chicken salad and pulled BBQ chicken.

Miabean42 says:

I buy discount gift cards for the places I shop for some extra savings – cardpool, cardcookie, etc. Sometimes Target has a sale on their gift cards as well. It's great because it's money I'm going to spend anyway and it goes straight back in my pocket. 🙂

Linette Andrade says:
