All of these prices seem so high in comparsion to what you get. The only "realistic" one is the one for bread and cereal.

Poor Man says:

8.10$ for that small amount of fresh fruits & veggies? I'd spend half on the same amount.

I only eat fruits all day and veggies for dinner. So your suggestions on produce are awesome! Thank you KCL

This is what i'd call the bare minimum of food for a week. I'd spend more than 40 bucks, cause i need tomatoes for my salad, and dressing would be nice too.. So i can see that we will be eating cereal & yogurt all week long. no hot breakfasts. Lunch consists of apples, bananas, grapes, where is lunch by the way?. And for dinner for 7 days we are eating pasta. Where is the meat and cooked vegetables. I'd like to know what goes on the bread.

At the beginning you expend a little extra in comparison with the rest of the following months.I just bought 2 Ragu Sauces (1lb) and 1 box of pasta at Target for 1.13 yesterday

Joanie! You look so great on the show! Great job showing "realistic" prices for people shopping sales with coupons. Although if I spent 40/week on groceries for 4, I would go broke! 😉 great job! Seems like 4 years I have been couponing has flown by! I still miss the blog layout on your site. To hard to read for me the new way.

My favorite way to save on produce is buying from the $1 bin at my grocery store. I've even asked the produce manager at what time they bag and shelf these items so I can be the first one and get the best pick of the lot. Just yesterday I picked up 2 bags of oranges, a bag or apples, a bag of lemons and bananas for just under $6. Plus, since I'm feeding a household of 9 I know my family will eat it all within in week, so there's no worries about it spoiling.
