Hey, friends! What savings tips do you have to share with us if food prices go up? I hope the tips I shared are helpful!

Kathryn C says:

Omg I love that you made the comments about the snacking mix because I bought it and I LOVED IT and after i finished it I was like “why don’t I just make it myself” and I did lol same thing! Love your videos Mindy!

K P says:

I love aldis! I agree with you it beats most stores!

Kara Britch says:

This was great! Thank you for addressing different living styles. We used to go out to eat so much because cooking was intimidating. Then our truck needed repair and we couldn't leave for 8 days while waiting for our parts for repair. I learned to love cooking and enjoy what we eat. Finally! I grew up, better late than never! Lol
Now my kids are teens and I am trying to teach them we don't need to go out to eat everyday. They actually have been Loving it! And so does my hubby.❤

Brian Parent says:

I save money by NOT going to places like Starbucks. I make my coffee at home. I use three pounds of ground beef at Trader Joe's in my chili and also in my American Goulash. Both are done in my Electric Pressure Cooker.. I do not shop at Walmart or ALDI, as I do not have a vehicle. ALDI is in a bad area. I buy a lot of house brands from Kroger and I use Coupons at every chance I can.

Becky Hines says:

Love your shirt. I've not been to an Aldi's.

littleblessings momma says:

I think it really depends on your are at in these videos most foods are about half of what they are where I live in rural Maine. But the idea is they are still cheaper.

chris chevalier says:

Watching this a few months after the post, food items in Michigan has risen greatly. This first thing I have to say is my husband is a brand snob. I have a hard time getting him to try store brand, Aldi has help with this greatly. Their store brands are great. I have really taken stock of how we buy and cook, and realized we were wasting so much food. There are only two of us now so cooking large with the intention of having leftovers or freezing was my biggest waste. Finding things in the freezer that have been there way to long only to throw it out or not wanting the leftovers on the day I planned for it. So cooking small and eating it the day its cooked cuts down on the waste. Also cleaning out the pantry throwing out the expired items really opened my eyes. So now we are cooking out of the freezer and pantry to use up what we have stocked up on. Only buying fresh and paper items until we have cleaned out both. I am fortunate that I don have to budget so tightly as when we were raising a family, but we were really wasting money. Both of us retired now, and who know when a rainy day is going to happen so extra cash is always a good thing.

Kenyon Bissett says:

My best tip is to start with menu planning- so make a list of inexpensive meals and a few treat meals. I prefer 14 meals and they can be repeated every 2 weeks.

Once you have your inexpensive meals make a one month meal plan buy having your 14 meals days 1-14 and again days 15-28. The remaining 2 -3 days can be leftovers nights on 2-3 Wednesday’s. Why do I suggest repeating the menu? Because days 1-14, you can double the amount each night and put the extra in the freezer for days 15-28. This also allows you to use less energy making dinner since you just have to warm up dinner. You save on electric/natural gas and by cooking low cost meals. You also can shop less. Day 1-14 have the heaviest grocery budget, eat fresh fruits and veggies 1-7 and frozen/canned days 8-14. Shop mid month and repeat fresh veggies/fruits days 15-22 and then frozen/canned days 23-30/31. Milk can be frozen, as can butter. Yogurt, eggs and sour cream last 2 weeks plus+.

Yvonne Palmquist says:

I heard on the radio today that bacon is up 28% in the past 4 months and that it's the highest it's ever been in 40 years (I'm assuming that's an inflation adjustment.)

MRS. NVD says:

Saving tips: (1) bake your sweet treats, even semi homemade is cheaper than the bakery stuff (2) markdown rotisserie freezes well and the bones make good broth that can be froze in and ice tray (3) cook big batches of beans and fresh veggies such as green beans and kale and freeze in can -equivalent portions for future use. You would be amazed at how many servings a 3lb haul of cheap fresh green beans will go!! And (4 ) fresh fruit that has just about hit its shelf life, makes great fruit compote or freeze for smoothies etc..

Royal Navarre says:

Great advice!! My husband always buys ready made ice tea, so I'm going to get that cool Mr. Coffee Ice Tea maker!! Thank you!!

I love your channel!!

Africanchildren Media says:

I started shopping at Aldi since watching your videos & it’s been a life saver to my budget.

Lisa Raby says:

One of the first things I taught my son when he started cooking was how to use a hamburger helper as a starting point for a meal. He was tasked with talking a sale item (I never buy it at full price because it's almost always on sale lol) then kicking it up a notch with add ins like beans, veggies, cheese and extra spices and cutting down whatever meat he used. He's now an awesome cook that's not afraid to branch out and mix up lots of different meals for his family using whatever is on hand or on sale that week. Btw I started him cooking on his own with supervision at 9 in a semi truck going across country with his daddy and I driving and home schooling him. We've all got some great memories and stories being passed down to his boys.

Ruthiroo23 says:

Do have a Grocery Outlet Bargain Market ? How do you feel they compare to Aldi’s?

Dawn Grover says:

We have a kuerig duo and we buy 100 pods through Amazon. We do keep ground coffee if we have people over, but use the 12 cup to make a gallon of tea and buy the gallon size tea bags. I buy them every few months and we have tea for days!!

Angie Smith says:

Interesting! The Great Value cream cheese went up by quite a bit at my Walmart, but that was just a few weeks ago.

Julie McDonald says:

Just your tip, to halve minced beef in a recipe that can be bulked out with veggies, is great. We’re trying to cut back on our meat consumption and that is a great way to start! 😊
